Description
Works to bring about social justice and equity in the City of Buffalo through organized, collective action with a focus on restorative justice, restorative practices, policy reform, advocacy, community engagement, and bridge building around racial justice and equity.
Provides a committee space for people who have been formerly incarcerated or impacted by the legal system. This committee, called Street Certified, focuses on restoration, healing, advocacy, community engagement, policy reform, and bridge building.
Offers Radical Love Funds, or short term financial assistance to positively impact the lives of people impacted by incarceration and the legal system as well as those around them. This financial assistance may be for purposes including but not limited to:
- Phone or commissary funds for those who are currently incarcerated
- Bereavement support
- Stipends for specific training, license fees or educational fees, needed supplies, or a bus pass
- Emergency family support
- Emergency support upon someone's release, including temporary shelter and funds for food, clothing, bus pass, or a phone
- Other needs as decided on a case-by-case basis
