Ex-Offender Reentry Programs, Families of Inmates Support Groups, Inmate Support Services, Specialized Information and Referral
Description
An enrichment, leadership, and relationship-building program for parents, children, and families affected by incarceration in Western New York. Offers family recreational activities; support groups and after school programs for children/youth who have a currently or formerly incarcerated parent; service linkage; free Video Visiting allowing children and family members to visit with incarcerated people by video from Osborne's Buffalo site to eight New York State prisons; and technical assistance for organizations that serve families affected by incarceration.
Also offers reentry support, including coaching, access to restorative justice resources, and the following services:
- Reentry Hotline: Callers can receive referral information for re-entry needs, including online/telemedicine services such as medical/dental services, mental health services, as well as entitlements, linkage to housing, employment, legal support, and COVID-19 specific concerns and testing, if warranted.
- Reentry Kits: Provide important items during the first few weeks in the community while many stores are closed and services are limited, including smart phones, personal hygiene products, gift cards for emergency food, clothing, and medical co-pays, masks, and additional items for personal use.

Hours
Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.
Eligibility
Family members of a currently incarcerated or recently released loved one as well as formerly incarcerated or recently released individuals.
Video Visiting: Loved ones of individuals incarcerated at Adirondack, Albion, Bare Hill, Bedford Hills, Clinton, Collins, Gouverneur, Greene, Groveland, Taconic, or Wyoming Correctional Facilities.
Afterschool Programs for Children/Youth: Ages 12-15 years old from the Greater Buffalo area with a parent who is incarcerated or recently released.
Service Area: Erie & Niagara Counties; no residential requirements, but clients must be able to travel to receive services on site.
